38mm straight pin big end set

Post by Aussiess »

I've just been given news after a thorough inspection of my race engine crank that it is stuffed!
I am in urgent need of a new big end set . It's a straight 38mm crank pin bottom end, I am looking for a twin rib setup or something equally as strong. (It's a 79 ss style bottom end)
I've checked out Lacey Ducati in the uk, a nice looking setup made for them, a little expensive, but I'm looking for a good crank setup, not something like what some "experts" set up for me in this engine, and has thankfully just been caught before a catastrophic failure. ( you can't trust too many so called experts anymore can you).
That said, if anyone can advise of places they may know that can assist with supply of a new big end set I will be grateful, and I may still get to race at the upcoming Barry Sheene meet in Sydney.
It's a big world, hopefully we can get some info flowing quickly.
Thanks
Grant

Yes Vince, he's the man who's got the crank and diagnosed my problems, even he can't find bits, hence a wider search.
Dave at moto italia is looking around.
Have been in touch with Ian G.
