Sealing exhausts

Post by welshmally »

Is there a recommended material that will enable me to form a gas tight seal on my Conti's without forming an inseparable bond for when I need to remove them? They leak a bit around the junction with the balance pipe.

Cheers

In the past I've used Hi Temp silicone sealer. It should be availabe at most any automotive store. The stuff I use is made by Permatex and is copper colored and lasts well because the muffler/pipe joint doesn't get too hot.
