Polish or not to Polish

Have my bike ready for rego and just tidying up last little things.

Unsure on the finish of the side covers (clutch, alternator, front sprocket)?

Brochure shows them as unpolished, but has satin finish on exhaust too so maybe dulled down to stop reflection in photos?

In Falloon's book the ducati and two wheels sourced pics seem to be mainly non polished, other pics seemed to be polished.

Does anyone remember what the original finish was?

thanks
jon

Jon,

Polishing your covers is a subjective subject. some love it, others not so much. Having said that, they certainly did not come from the factory with a mirror finish, and many of the experts ( Ian Falloon included) dislike the over polished look, usually done on a machine buff, as it tends to round off the edges.

All in all, if you are doing yours by hand I can't see how you can do any damage, so polish away.

Cheers
Rick
