Shift Lever

Post by FullHedge »

I'm restoring a 450 RT, and as said in another forum this is my first
resto, anyway, just below the shift lever is a set screw with a locking
nut on it, what is it for. I was going to take apart the shifting mechanism
on this case cover to investigate it but it seems that this assembly is
under some spring tension and I opted to close it up until I find
out more.

Thanks

For those who are wondering:

As for the shifting problems there is a screw under the shifting lever
you can adjust. that screw has a excenter on the other end and let you
play with with the spring inside the selector box
if that dont help the spring got to weak over the years and you have
to fit a new one.
