stripped drain plug hole

I have a 77 860gt with an oil drain that is stripped. :cry: Can anyone lend any advice as to how to remedy this situation.tks Thomas

I would have thought Timsert of Helicoil were your options now?

I don't know what timsert is ,but I was told that helicoil does not make one for this application.tks Thomas

stripped threads

COntact a machine shop or 3 and tell them the size and pitch you seek remedy for. Someone will have the ability and tools to fix this for you. Barring that it would seem an engine teardown is in store, weld up the hole and re cut the threads. Or, find a different set of cases :(
