Noisy 3rd and 5th Gear 750 GT

Post by jonduc74 »

Hi I am looking at replacing the 3rd and 5th gears on my 1974 750 GT as they are very noisy when riding.
Is there anything else I should consider when replacing these gears?

I have also heard that these two gears can be noisy, will the noise reduce if I go to the trouble of replacing them?

Many Thanks John

John, While you are in there carefully inspect all the transmission parts and the bearings. You will likely find wear on 2nd and 4th too. The crank should be inspected carefully while it's out too.
