Crank Case Breather

Post by Bumbler »

I've been thinking...... A dangerous thing at the best of times....

I've got my crank case breathing through a vertical 30cm piece of hose terminating with a small pod filter. This means the pressure that occurrs in the cases equalises with the atmosphere...

Is this the optimum arrangement?

Does the case require a negative pressure to draw fumes out? (as per the original set-up were the breather went into the air box benifiting from the low pressure developed by the carbies)

Is there any time during the rev range that a bit of pressure is required?

Does any of this make a scrap of difference or am I just spending too much time under the house stareing at my bikes engine? :
