900 sq case gearshift oil leak

Post by drgoon »

Anyway of stopping the oil leak from my lh gearshift. I have thought about fitting a seal here but probably would need to do some machining. Any hints accepted with thanks

G'Day
I too had an oi leak on my 78 Darmah gear change spindle, bought a new seal from Phil at Road and Race can't remember exactly how much but quite cheap. It is a push fit with no disassembly needed. no more oil leak. Good luck with the resto

yes a little seal sits in the cover for your gear shift sharf. I put 2 seals in mine, and a little piece of rubber tubing to press against the seal on the shaft just for good measure.......... No more oil weeps.....
