750 GT Cylinder fin repair

Post by gerard collier »

has anyone one done any welding on 750 GT cyl fins ??
I have a broken one and was wondering what kind of rod would be OK
for the cast aluminum fins
I am thinking they are probably a 356 alloy which is easy to weld but
just thought I would ask before I start
I want to do the welding before I have them bored for the new pistons

thanks

Gerard, I found this on the net http://www.muggyweld.com/super5.html?OV ... 8004052012 I have no experience with the product but it looks like it might be a great solution to look into. Let us know how it works out. Jordan

Years ago Tom Mackie did a wonderful and inexpensive fin repair for me on a bevel cylinder... A quick Google search says the business still exists.
