Question for those who have removed the stock air boxes

Post by confusa »

Thinking about pulling mine in favor of a pod filter setup. Looking at the boxes I see one has a tube that goes down to the breather assembly, whatever that does. What do you do with the tube that goes to it?

Most people probably just vent the breather vapours to the atmosphere as I did when I had an 860GT. On my SS I attached a small air filter to the end of the hose.

Cool. Also, on the K&Ns that I was thinking of replacing the boxes with, do you have to do anything special to get them to fit or will they fit fine with the side covers? Looking at some pictures of others that have mounted them, it looks like a tight fit.

http://shop.bevelheaven.com/detail.aspx?ID=949 I am told that the kit we stock for 750GT fits in the 860GT as well as long as you have PHF carbies, also behind the sidecovers on a Darmah with PHF carbies.
