Different centre gasket
In one of Ian Faloons books he mentions engines with a random "D" stamped handy to the engine number required a different thickness centre gasket.. My 79 ss has this "D" stamped on the cases along with a major shortage of room to fit my crank. (The crank web has been touching the steel main bearing surround) Can anyone tell me any reason why i cant fatten up my centre gasket by around 0.5mm and shim both sides of my crank to remedy both problems?
