Better Del for a 66 monza 250 (NC)

Hey fellas,
While I love the looks of the stock side bowl dellorto carb on the 66 Monza 250, this will be a daily driver type of bike. That carb tends to be not super responsive and leaky.
I was wondering if you guys had any experience adapting the later model flat slide dels on these bikes? I think they came stock after 1970ish? What size/model carb would I be looking at getting and, if available, what kind of jetting? Is there any need for a different intake to fit it?
