Starter commentator

Post by Jackduck »

My 1987 Alazurra SS is now my son in-laws machine. He is being deployed to Iraqi on Monday and I would like to fix this for him before he gets back. The starter commentator is shot and needs to be replaced. The rest of the windings are OK. Where in northern California can this be done? Or where can I get a commentator replacement block can be purchased? I have a lathe so I can turn one down. Or, is there a Japanese make that is a replacement?
Thanks:
Jack
