pantah 750 engine temp?

So I went for a ride, all of 40minutes on a 78degree day; and when I got back I decided to aim a thremometer at the engine.........312-325degrees?
Has anyone else ever took the temprature of the f1 750 engine? Just curious as to normal or not.

Where did you measure it?
Heads will be (much) hotter, than other, f.i. lower, engine parts....

Right on the Fins, heads,......and again Last night .....312.
Just Never did it and never read anything on the topic.
Any thoughts.

Keep in mind the temp rises after the engine is shut off. Also the rear cyl. on the F1 runs pretty darn hot anyway 300 ish doesn't sound too high though. If it were too hot you would probably get sone rattle under load. Look at your plugs and check the color.

No she runs smooth as silk, even @twenty with 13650miles on the clock. I just used my thermal temp meter on it and thought 312ish was/could be hot.
funny thing is my 1098, show 210 but yet feels real hot on the donkey-sensor.
just getting worried about nuff'n.

1098 = watercooled, F1= aircooled, no compare!

Peter is right it's apples and oranges.The 1098 has a layer of water between the combustion chamber and the outer surface of the head. And a much greater surface area to dissipate heat. All the F1 has is the oil that circulates when the engine is running and the fins. I would put the thermometer to use on other things and enjoy the ride.

yes i'm aware of the apples and oranges, and .....
Back to my lame attempt; can some one with a 750f1 or 750 pantah style engine take a 45minute summer time cruse not to exceed the speed limit and for the love of god please find the temp of the engine........just because. Or, i'm just damn curious.

I did the temperature test for you last week end.
The outside temperature was 74'F,I did a 40 min. ride and I took the temp. on the fins head near the spark plug.
The lower head temperature :300'F
The upper head temperature :282'F
I have a 750 F1 with Big Bore kit, Martin Brickwood Heads and Keihin carburetors.

Thank you, I was just trying to get some impierical info and needed some back-up. Those numbers fell in line with mine.
