Need a Users Manual for a Mototrans Desmo 500

Post by miguelangel »

Hi.

Im Miguelangel, from La Coruña (NW of Spain).

I'm the (proud) owner of a Mototrans Desmo 500, a looks-like GTL 500 model with desmo distro:

(Not mine, only to show the model)

I'm looking for an Users Manual of this model (3rd model, year 82). I have yet the "Reparation manual" and the "Parts manual".

Anybody have one (to copy, to sell, to upload...)

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Lazzeri.

Happy to meet you here :D

Yes, i'm a registered user of "lamaneta.com" (best place for classic bikes in spanish language), and a reader of www.paralleltwins.com, your site for the "minor brother" of ducas

Im impressed for the amount (and quality) of info about the parallels that you have published on it, but.... there is a "more minor" minor brother in this issue: The mototrans ducatis

Really, there was no a lot of changes (maybe plastics, electrics and other few components...) respect GTLs or Desmos, but i'm now desesperately looking for the user manual to know items like SAE oil, dot for brake fluid....

Well, searching again!!! ;)

Thanks a lot for your (best) site ;)

DOT 4 only for brake fluid................. on ALL Brembo brake systems as per manuf recommendation. BREMBO uses natural rubber seals, always have, always will most likely. So use only DOT 4

Hi Miguelangel -

Thats a beautiful bike that you have. I have seen the Mototrans Ducati singles in Spain and the later ones are very interesting machines but I had never seen a parallel twin.

Hi aganin, Lazzeri

Sorry for the inconvenience. I`ll send to you any doc you need, by mail. No problem for this.

In the spanish owner forum at www.lamaneta.com (http://www.lamaneta.org/foromecanico/viewforum.php?f=42) you can obtain four new docs in PDF: they are the Motociclismo publications about the Desmo (SD spanish version, manufactured by Mototrans Industries):

http://h1.ripway.com/abarthjet/ducati_500_Desmo.PDF
http://h1.ripway.com/abarthjet/moto_desmo_500.PDF
http://h1.ripway.com/abarthjet/DUCATI%2 ... OVEDAD.PDF
http://h1.ripway.com/abarthjet/DUCATI%2 ... EJORAS.PDF
http://h1.ripway.com/abarthjet/DUCATI%2 ... 0FONDO.PDF

And we are now working to make a website with all this info, to offer it to spanish bikers in a unique place. With your paralleltwins.com web... maybe we can change the "bad bike" image of this Duca :D

The Desmo (and the last units of the Twin) is a very interesting bike, in my opinion. At least, a singular Duca!!!

I agree this 500 desmo Mototrans are very intersting bikes.
Keep on with your site, it will be good.

I will put this new links in the Mototrans page of my site, where I speak about your blog and site, and some where else as well to make that easy to find.

No, no, no.... i'm only the messenger (please, dont kill the messenger :D )

This docs were in the collection of a user (jmelgarejo) of lamaneta.com, and was scanned and uploaded by another user (abarthjet). I`m only translating them to this (reference) site for the ducati community.

Thanks to them !!!!
