Desmo 250 Frame Identification query

Post by Steved »

I’m confused :?: , this just a question of interest to see if anyone has an answer. I know my motor is a 250 widecase single, year 1984, and on the engine next to the engine number is stamped DM250D, however the frame is stamped DM250GT.

Is this telling me that the same design of frame from the middle 60’s were used for all subsequent models until the latest ones were made, or have I got myself a different frame from original?

I'm guessing you meant the engine is a '74, not '84...

Anywhos, I guess I don't understand the issue with the engine/frame stampings, I wouldn't expect them to match? But I'm no expert either, so...

Thanks Craig

I stand corrected, ’74.

I shall just forget that I ever looked at the frame stamping and carry on with the rebuild. I’m sure that there are plenty more questions to come.

Cheers
