Swing Arm Shims

From: George Betzhold <[email protected]>

McMaster Carr http://www.mcmaster.com has got the shims you will need. I bought some for mine to remove the kind of side movement you are seeing. While I don't have the exact part numbers, the sizes you are looking for are 30mm ID x 42mm OD. Build the stack as you see fit. I personally shot for about .005".

Per Steve's suggestion, i bought a set of these shims from McMaster Carr in stainless steel for my 900ss. For under $20 dollars I was able to get and assortment that should last me through the next half dozen restoration projects I am sure. I bought three different sizes. They come in packs of ten.

Part#'s are:

.1 mm thick - 98089A240
.3 mm thick - 98089A321
1 mm thick - 98089A408

There are other sizes available.

Thanks Steve!!! :) :-D
