Where do 750 GT airfilter housings mount?

Post by focusrsh »

I've found a pair of original airfilter housings for my 1973 750GT. One mounts on a tube welled on the bottom of the top tube, as shown in the parts catalog. Does anyone know where the rear housing mounts? I don't find a similar lug there. The parts catalog doesn't really give any hints and none of the books I have show any pictures of that area. If someone have a GT with these bits on them, can you please take a look. A photo would be great.

It mounts behind the left sidecover on a '74, I think the '73 is similar?

I ditched the stock filters on my bike and mounted a breather filter where the old airfilter went. (Yeah, it's the same bike... three years and a dollar or two later  )

BTW: The new air filters are the ones Steve sells here.

Thanks, that really helps.

I don't suppose you saved those old airboxes, clips, etc? I'd be happy to make a deal for them.

I'm afraid there wasn't much left of them by the time I got them off. It seems at least one of them had been sublet to some critters for other uses in the years it sat dormant...

BTW: You can buy fiberglass repros of them from Road and Race in Australia.
