Hi all
I’ve removed the stem from the bottom triple clamp as the threads on this stem are shot.
It easy enough to turn up a new one and press it back.
I need a photo or diagram of an original to see what it looks like at the top triple clamp end of the stem.
Mine is threaded from the top, all the way down to the top of the upper taper bearing.
This doesn’t make sense as the top clamp will then sit over those threads and is tightened on to those threads … not good engineering. Then, the top nut goes over top of the top clamp.
So I think someone has extended the threading on mine to solve a problem but just created another.
The diagram in the parts manual is impossible to see that level of detail , so a photo or even a free hand diagram would be useful
Any help Appreciated.
Cheers all
Peter S
