Proper vin number foil marking

Post by scrambler »

I am in the process of getting my restoration signed off at the CHP as "typical" there are no frame numbers, but i have a new "blank" foil ID tag. I would like to fill this out correctly. Is there any resource or an example to copy for the correct information. They will most likely give it a Blue tag but i want to be close to correct.

I have my original foil...I could photograph it and email it to you so you can see how it should be stamped.

Here is an Ebay listing for the stamps so you can punch your foil.
No affiliation to auction...I just happen so see it.

just go to harbor freight and pick up a set of 1/8" steel stamps and have at it. Don't try to get things too neat and straight.
