Oil change in Marzocchi forks 1985 mhr

Hi,
Basic one for most (if not all) but when changing fork oil, once old oil is drained, do you refill to the recommended capacity (230cc for 1985 mhr) with spring still within fork leg. Or rather, should the spring be removed, and oil filled to a distance from the top of the fork leg (say 100mm), then spring reinserted? I've been reading some conflicting descriptions on this. Thanks for any advice.

the manuals for Ducati specify a specific amount of fluid in each leg doesn;t matter spring in or out.

Other manuals for other brands might specify fill to a certain distance from top etc. Not Ducati. Its all about the amount put in
