Marzocchi Shock rebuild

Post by Bern »

Hi folks ,

I just rebuilt my AG strada shocks. All went well except I don't quite understand the bit about the washer configuration on the bottom of the piston and how the shaved star washer should be set up. Is the manual saying the shaved side should be away from the washers or against the washers.(last page)

The manual indicates that 4 settings can be achieved. I have no idea how.
Can anyone elaborate?

I haven't added the oil yet. I want to make sure I get this right.

BTW what have you guys used to refinish your old shocks: paint, powdercoat or a specialized product? I suspect the powdercoat wouldn't work on the springs. I will do them this winter.

Hi

The 4 settings requires buying washers of different outside diameter.

When I rebuilt mine i just painted them, i have had springs powder coated before and it works fine.

Cant help much with the way up for the valve washers, i put them on a zippy tie on dissambly didnt take them off until ready to place them back on.

cheers
