marzocchi m1r

Post by pbeau »

i would appreciate some help please
i own a 1975 750 gt ,recently had it rebuilt
installed m1r forks(41.7mm)adjustable
rebounding on the right leg only, the ride
was much too stiff. i bled the air out
by the fittings under the rubber caps on top of
the fork. it made the ride a little better but
i would still like it softer. i have no idea
of the viscosity of the fluid curently in
the forks. my friend who did the work was
killed just as the rebuild was being completed
so i,m unable to ask him. what amount of
fluid ,viscosity, and type should i use?
i have never done the job of trying to
replace fork fluid myself, but it seems like
it wouldnt be too complicated, could someone
please run the procedure by me if possible
any help would be greatly appreciated

Paul, As I recall the early 851 Superbikes used the m1r forks. You might find the info on one of the other forums that deal with the later stuff.
