78 900SS fork tubes

Post by wa_pete »

One of the fork tubes has a few rust crust spots (maybe 1mm dia) and the chrome has lifted, just at the upper limit of the suspension travel. What are the options here in Aus, rechrome or replace?. Also, both fork tubes have quite visible wear marks on the chrome. If rechrome, any recommendations?
thanks

Give em a call.

Pete, I just recently had the same problem,R &R in Sydney have new inner fork tubes at a resonable price(about $240AUS EACH).
I ended up buying a pair so the chrome finish will match,it just seemed a lot less hassle than re-(hard)chroming,otherwise I have one good inner tube to part with.
Cheers K-Mac
