Original style air filters for 750GT

Post by focusrsh »

The parts manual show a FIAMM FL6179 air filter, which cross references to a FRAM CA656PL. That filter is round, but the air filter housings are oval (actually, "lozenge") shaped. A carefully study of the parts book shows a round air filter on the front and a fitted filter in the back, even though both housings are the same. I assume this is Italian artistic freedom. My bike had a pair of unmarked air filters that are shaped to fit the housings. It is all very strange. Can anyone shed some light on this?

in one of my old gt parts stashes both filters inside those plastic airboxes were oval shaped. Everything got thrown away as the filters had melted into the boxes and the boxes crumbled when I tried to carefully remove the lids :(
