Determining Velocity Stack Height

Post by MplsMoto »

How do you determine the proper height of velocity stacks? I have 32mm Delorto carbs, 860GT, 10:1 compression.

If Your intention is to get rid of the aircleaner and tubes and fit another bellmouth : I don't think there are that many options (anymore) out there.
Just fit the Original SS pieces.
Tuning the length to get the most power out Your engine : don't waste the $$ and the time.
You'll get more result cleaning, synchronising and finetuning the carbs and adjusting the valves.
Enjoy the 860 for what it is : a fine bike to tour with the pedigree of the SS.
