Balance

Got some Vac. gauges to set carb tuning. Read Steve's procedure and the Delorto procedure, thought "OK, right tools for the job, lets get this right.
First problem:

At idle (about 1300 rpm)

> Engine warm, rear cylinder reading steady at -6" hg, Front Cyl. Fluctuating wildly between -4"hg and -8" hg.

> At the same time , front cyl. nice and crisp sound and exh. running warm/hot, rear cyl. firing intermitently and exh. cold.

>After some 15 Min of trying to get a balance, vacume reading on the front cyl. settled down to fluctuate only about 1" hg. Front cyl. still nice and crisp sound and warm, rear cyl. intermitent and cold.

>Checked the plugs , which were new, ( NGK 5 BP HS) gap adjusted to +-26 thou.

>Start up again and front cyl. vacume fluctuating wildly again but sounds and feels good, rear cyl. vacume very seady but intermitent and cold.
