Two Holes

Post by plahiff »

I have a set of PHF30 carbs off a GT750. After removing the bowl and float and tipping the carbs upside down there are two holes about 1/8'' dia and 2" apart. On one carb these are open and the passage leads to the outside top.The other carb has one hole blocked by a lead plug. Question is should all holes be blocked or is what I have correct ? in photo orange holes open, green blocked

G'day mate,
With Steve on this one. Normally only one is open to air with the other plugged by lead but I have seen a couple with both open. I fact I pulled apart a set of carbs last week for a bloke who brought his sick Darmah over to get sorted and it had 2 holes open on the front carb and 1 hole open on the rear and no evidence of any lead plug having been fitted in either of the empty holes.
Bike tuned up nicely after a good carb clean and proper set-up.
Regards,
RAD
