carb seized

Post by plahiff »

help wanted !!! anyone know how to remove a stuck choke piston from a PHF carburettor.I have a basket case GT750 which has seized slides and choke pistons. I managed to free up the slide by boiling for a couple of hours but choke piston refuses to budge.

I have had success by: removing cable housing assembly and pull away from carb body. spray a bit or carb cleaner down into the bore and let sit for awhile. Repeat. If that doesn't eventually allow you to pull it out, do some soaks in an ultrasonic cleaner and then try again. Don't break the cable.
