What's the best way to (a) stop petcocks from leaking fuel from where they attach to the tank and (b) align the lever in the front without having the petcock too loose ?

I have tried using mulitple fiber washers, o-rings and teflon tape. All seem to work for a few days, then.....drip drip drip...

Steve sells some stuff in a tube on Bevel Heaven - My guess is that is the stuff to use.

PERMATEX high temp thread sealant. Perfect for 900SS and singles fuel taps - the ones that thread INTO the tank, bleed screws on brakes, brake light switches etc. Fuel, brake fluid and oil proof. This is the good stuff baby. Comes in a 6ml tube.

Steve,
Thanks for that great tip. I looked into it and there are quite a few products in the Permatex range that are similar. Do you have a description or number for the one you use?
