G'Day Martin,
I have K&N's on my 78 Darmah with 40mm carbs but cannot use the side covers because the filters stick out too far.

Hi,

I don't know if K&N make one the right size. I use a Donaldson filter no P528206 in my 78 Darmah in the stock airboxes. It is actually for a John Deere tractor (PN AM30800). Cheap as chips, exact fit, and they work fine.

If you want to use a K&N cone, you can always attach the K&N to the 90 degree bend air intake rubber using another plastic trumpet. That way you can fit your side cover on no problem. I do that on my 81, and it also works fine.

Regards,

machten
