Cables for PHF Delorto's

Post by Phil/TX »

I just purchased a 1979 900 GTS. The carbs have a single cable at the throttle, and the kit I ordered said it was for PHM's. This bike has PHF's, but the cables look right? So will a single pull throttle kit work OK with my PHF's ?

SINGLE CABLES

Post by Rick F »

Hi,
further to what Steve says... from what I gather, and it makes sense, the single cable goes to a fitting from which the 2 cables go to your carbs. fit a dual cable twist grip & it all becomes easier and runs better. you can tune & synchronise the carbies quicker & easier, less parts to wear.

I did it years ago on my 750 GT ..makes a lot of sense..works better..do it!!!

I concur. THis is the best method - tommaselli DAYTONA 2C throttle with 2 cables [only] each cable going from throttle to carbie. I stock everything you would need.

I was just going by what came with the bike, as the second owner, and with only 6,000 miles on the bike I "assumed" the cables that came on it were correct. Hope steve can change my order and send the D2 set up.
