36mm Dellortos on Darmah SSD

I just picked up a 1980 Darmah SSD that came with 32mm dellortos. I have located a re-conditioned set of 36MM dellortos, but will likely need to reconfigure the insides (pilot/needle/main jets and perhaps slide). Has anyone done this conversion, and if so, what internals did you use? Spefically, I need a starting point for the Atomizer, main and pilot jets, needle and position and the slide cutaway. Bike is stock, except for Contis and K&N power cones rather than the stock airboxes. Thanks for any help you can give.

Martin:

USA SSDs came stock with 32s, according to most Ducati sources I have read. That being said, the first performance upgrade would be to add 40 Dellortos and Contis, which were popular first upgrades....And congrats on your SSD, even though someone took some liberties with the re-spray....bike has good bones to work with, however....

My SSD has the 40mm on it already would I be best to check that the manifold is the correct one for it ? I get the bike in about 3 weeks time, as I had to find a transporter for it and my MHR there both in a different state at the moment to where I live , one I have them at home the fun begins with the rebuild

My understanding is that all SSDs came with 58mm spacing for the threaded manifold mounting studs on the heads. Other Darmahs and early bevels that came with 32mm Dellortos had 53MM spacing, so the manifold for the 40mm dellorto would not mount onto these heads. I assume ifyou have a 40mmm dellorto already on the bike and it is an SSD, that you are fine.
