"Old & Busted" to "New Hottness"

Post by sws »

My first twin restoration ('74 750GT) gave me quite an education, but I think it turned out O.K. Can't wait to wait for my next project (a little 350 cafe racer) In the meantime I will enjoy running around on this one. :-D

I bought it from a friend who found it at Steele's cycles in Denver. It was pretty much a rolling basket-case, but all the important parts were intact and in good condition once all the grease, dirt, oil, etc. was cleaned off.

R-Good's Auto Body did my paint work.

And Woody's Wheel Works did a beautiful job on my hubs and rims.

I used 13 in. Works Performance shocks for a bit more clearance for my rear wheel. I also used a Dyna-ignition and found an alternator to replace the original from a '98 ST2.

Thanks to Dave V.S. for the instruction and to Steve Allen for all the numerous parts. What a great website!

SWEET!

Steve Likey - that metallic blue must BOUNCE in the direct sun. Good Choice.

That blue is AWESOME!!!

That is probably one of the nicest GT Specials I have ever seen. Very nice job. You should be proud...

I'm currently searching for new ideas for another GT "Special." I thought doing something with a chrome frame would be fun... Does anyone have other cool ideas???

How about a polished alloy tank?

Cheers
