Been a fair while, been a bit busy with work and building my parents a house when off roster.

With the bike sitting around the bolts were get surface rust as the zinc was gone, would have been annoying to get it finnished and think "Would look OK if the bolts weren't rusty" so I stripped the bike again and got all the fastners, axles, footpegs ect zinc plated at Pine Rivers Electroplating.

Bought 2 rear inner guards off different people (no-one on this forum), one was wrong model and other was in worse condition than mine, only upside was that although it was broken in the same area there was enough bits between the two to make one.

Got the Q-Bond from Repco, pretty happy with the results, will see how it lasts.

Layed up the decals from CutGrafix, sorry about the crap photos, but ones on camera died and only had this one on my phone.

Got myself a ride bike while doing up the S2.

Rebuilt front forks;
I got the Stanchions rechromed by Rad Hard Chroming

Fitted Cartidge emulators and Springs from Suspension Improvements

To fit the Emulators I had to do some mods to the Damper rods;
Filling in a drilling some more holes to redirect oil flow

Mahine check valve out of top and fit a locator ring.

Got it back on its wheels this am, main fairing should be back from painters early in the new year as I put the main stripes on crooked :( so had to order some more.

Found Pine Rivers pretty good, I only got zinc plating done but the quality of that I am happy with.

Also had a look at another couple of chrome plating jobs that they had there as I will want some done later, also looked pretty good.

They turned my stuff around in 3 weeks, I did tell them that there was no real hurry as I wouldnt back until then anyway so not sure what their "normal" turnaround is like.

I will use them again.

Got the motor back from being glass bead blasted yesterday evening, plated up the Intake, Exhaust, starter motor hole, breather tower and plugged clutch rod hole so fingers crossed.

Was going to get is soda blasted but the guy that did it for me recomended the glass beading, I am pretty happy with the results, blasting took the last of the zinc of the bolts and head nuts so they are now rusting :?

Son helped me get motor into frame, starting to look like a bike again.

Need to pull off the side covers and bevel tops and give them a polish.

Wheeled the bike backwards and the whole speedo drive went around backwards with the wheel, I didn't noticwe until the cable was well kinked.
:( Was a new cable

Did you bead blast the engine complete? No issues of the media getting into places it shouldnt?

there has yet to be a motorcycle line made that is as satisfying to ride, hear and look at as the ducati bevels

Yes, blasted motor complete.
I made steel plates for intakes, exhausts, starter motor and breather tower, put a smear of silicone both sides before installing then left cure before about 24 hours before I dropped it off.
It then sat around his shop for for about a week before he blasted it.

Pulled off one intake for a look and alternator cover to get back the motor back into the frame so far and no sign of ant blast media in there, so fingers crossed for the rest of them.
