Further progress. Dash lights, gauges rebuilt, new gauge boots and cables, loom built and fitted, handle bar switch connected, new fuse box fitted and connected, master cylinders rebuilt and fitted, new brake lever, new foot levers and foot peg rubbers fitted. Still waiting on re-anodised calipers. Looking good to me, and bank manager.

Glad it is you doing that wiring and not me. Stuf will drive you crazy. Like the look of that modern fuse box with the spade fuses etc. though.
Good to get all the nitpiky stuff out of the way early, so when you get worn down by it all, you can do the exciting stuff like the engine and body paint etc toward the end of the project.

I have seen a few guys spend the money on the exciting stuff, chrome, paint and engine first then simply run out of steam on all the fiddly bits like the ones you are doing now so the project never gets finished for want of not much at all really.

She is still looking schmicko as you go!

Steve
Just looking through your pictures , tell me is the head light shell and front securing ring the same as a 750 GT ?

With the clutch side cover on the 76 engines could these be modified to house the Bosch system

Also did you spray the bike silver and black many years ago ?

Cheers

hey martin
alas no-the headlight shell is different-wont hold the jod duplo ring and reflector/lens-if you are thinking of buying that part on ebay-pm me
clutch cover-i dont think so,but you need to throw that one open to all and sundry-you never know
black and silver-yes it had a few repaints-from about 1981-in those days blue/silver ss's were a common site-i liked the black, but after some 27 years i miss the blue

The reason I asked about the black is because a saw one on the weekend with the same color combo

clutch cover-i dont think so,but you need to throw that one open to all and sundry-you never know ????

you mean fit the later style cover ? how is the electronic set up on those engines? looking your pics it shows different ign modules
what do they do on the 750's when they add electronic ign

I have an open mind at the moment to a 750GT/SS or 900 SS no hurry when one turns up one will turn up ,might even have to sell one of my other bevels to combat the price rise and the US$

Cheers Mate
