Back on the street.
Great forum.

I've seen so many of these with the dent in the left muffler that I'm convinced it is because of the use of that incredibly useless side stand at some point.

Hey Dean,

thats so sweet

why is it these bikes look so good. sweeping lines, combination of curves & angles ?

dont know really, just know a lot of people like the style. Then they hear them.............the rest is history so to speak

true artwork

I hope mine looks as good in the near future

Jordon,
It's hard to pick a favorite because most of what I find to be his most interesting writings or quotes were made in interviews and newspaper or magazine articles.
If I picked, though, it would be "Hells Angles" and "Generation of Swine"

"In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are f****d until we can put our acts together: Not necessarily to Win, but mainly to keep from Losing Completely"

"It's a strange world. Some people get rich and others eat s**t and die."

"There is a huge body of evidence to support the notion that me and the police were put on this earth to do extremely different things and never to mingle professionally with each other,"

"If you're going to be crazy, you have to get paid for it or else you're going to be locked up."

"'Bill Clinton does not inhale marijuana, right? You bet. Like I chew on LSD but I don't swallow it"

Stuff like that. Whenever I feel down I can read something of his and be raised up knowing that I don't have the riot going on inside of me that he surely must have had going on inside of him.
Considering that I like cannons ( I have a couple of small black powder cannons the largest of which has an eighteen inch tube) I can't think of a better way to have my ashes scattered with the possible exception of being scattered from the back of a motorcycle in the mountains of Colorado.

All great quotes there. I think I am just a fan of the gonzo journalistic style in general, though I specifically enjoyed the Fear and Loathing series, which tapped my political interest. Maybe you could get some picks up of your cannons for the other gun freaks out there :-D

is he the guy that wrote fear & loathing in Las Vegas

That book was out there 8)

I really loved the quote about the wave of change from the '60's

you could see how far it got then it broke & receeded

Yes, and I would also recommend:

Fear and Loathing in America
Generation of Swine
Better Than Sex
Kingdom of Fear (last published work I believe)
and
Fear and Loathing The Strange and Terrible Saga of Hunter S. Thompson an unauthroized biography by Paul Perry

OK Notto68,
Here ya go. Christmas in February. Santa (Mdina Italia) Claus Dropped this down the chimney.
Ya gotta love the smell of new Contis in the morning. And real Contis at that.
As soon as I get the bike out of winter storage these babies will spiff the ole '73 right up.
Got new green fuel line and "twirly" green plug wires too.
A friend of mine and I bought two full exhaust sets and got a small discount and the exchange rate to the pound worked out good for us as well.
Will post up new pics of the bike when I get them installed.
