Maybe I am missing something, but I have seen on some videos that a new tire will have a dot on it to show the lightest part of the tire, which should be placed at the valve hole in the rim; I have new Avon Roadmasters, but do not see any dot. I am guessing that, since there is no dot, the rotational placement on the rim is not important.
Any comments are welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Richard
Dot on new tire lightest spot?
Re: Dot on new tire lightest spot?
Never seen a dot on a Avon Roadrider, and I've put a lot of them on. Balancing has always been pretty easy.

Many - most? - tires these days don't have a dot, Richard. As per Gardner, just balance carefully after fitting.

I just mounted new tires on my 750 GT and they had dots. Yes, you mount the dots are the valve stem.
