"the brembo master cylinder"? what size MC are you talking about?

the one thats standard on these bikes, cant recall its number, but its the same as on all the larger seventies italian bikes - maybe a F08 or something - it looks to be about 13mm. This is all I have in the boxes of parts, it looks like the discs will clear the calipers OK, they don't look like the ones in the pictures I have seen of lockheed equipped calipers though (these ones are drilled), and I would be surprised if even Ducati mixed up master cylinders and calipers. Haven't quite got around to trial assembling it all, just thought I'd ask and see if it would be OK so I could order some hoses. The lockheed calipers seem to have a 3/8ths UNF thread rather than 10mm and I am contemplating running 2 hoses direct from the m/c and doing away with the splitter.

Ok, based on what you said, the master cylinders used on most all brembo equipped bevel twins was 15mm (actual 5/8" bore). Yes they were the same single or dual disk.....

Brembo uses 10mm x 1.0 (banjo fittings) for calipers and masters.

An F08 is a caliper not master cylinder. A P108 caliper is a replacement caliper for the Locheed.

If it were my bike, I would stick to what works and what is easily rebuildable and easy to bleed etc.

For your Brembo master cylinder, here is the rebuild kit you will need for it:
https://store.bevelheaven.com/Brake-Rel ... -rear-MCs/

If you need a new cup kit:
https://store.bevelheaven.com/Brake-Rel ... -GT-Sport/

Or just a new bellows:
https://store.bevelheaven.com/Brake-Rel ... llows-Kit/

I would toss the Lockheeds and install a pair of these calipers:
https://store.bevelheaven.com/Brake-Rel ... embo-P108/

Do know that the mount bosses are much thinner on the Brembo calipers, use the original bolts and they will lock against your rotor (bad). So also get the shorter bolt kit here:

Now you have an easy to setup system with the last addition of my dual SS hose kit I designed just for this exact setup, I keep them with a black or clear cover:

hey steve thanks for that info and good to know about the p108's having the same mounting as these old lockheeds. I'm quite keen on using as much as possible that came with the bike though, simply because I don't have a bottomless wallet to throw at it. Do you think I can use the brembo 15mm master cylinder with these Lockheeds calipers/brembo 280mm discs with an OK performance level, I won't be thrashing the bike around, but I will spend some money getting the front marzocchis working OK (maybe with some of Steve Wynnes emulators) so it will handle our Kiwi road surfaces.
