Sticky tyres for 1979 900ss...?

Hi all,
My '79 900ss is due for new tyres and as I am soon taking it to a local track session weekend (Broadford BBB at Easter for the other Aussies on the list) I thought it would be good to get something a bit more performance orientated than the Avon Roadriders that are presently on it. Sizes are presently 100/90 and 120/90.
Does anyone have a good suggestion?
Regards,
Malcolm

what you have are pretty damn good tires (AM26 Avons) suggest if you want super sticky to look at AVON SC compound race tires...

Thanks Steve, I appreciate your reply.
While waiting I have taken similar advice and ordered the same AM26s as I had on. The big difference will be that they are not 8 years old...
I thought of the Avon race tyres but was warned that apart form them being "not for highway use" they will probably not last very long if I use them on the road after the track day, and they do cost about twice the AM26 price.
Thanks again,
Malcolm

 :-D . Yeah, that might help a bit :Uwin: !

If you want a wider range of tire choice, Malcolm, and you have FPS rims, you can always think of running tubeless.

Big, sometimes passionate :*<: 8), debate about the wisdom of doing this ... But I run tubeless on my Laverda Corsa, also equipped with FPS rims.

Your call :-D

Thanks for the response Craig.

I've now have the Avons on and am looking forward to the weekend. Beautiful weather for it here.
I've also done up the brakes and will probably change fork oil if I have time.
Any suggestions for grade of fork oil for track use? Suspension is standard...

Cheers,
Malcolm
