master cylinder overhaul

Post by vij »

I was trying to take the piston out of my master cylinder for my 1984 MHR but I was not very succesful. How do you get it out? I dont want to be to brutal because I dont know how to do it. Should I just take a punch and knock it out backways? It looks like it is hold in position by some lock washer.

get a punch, insert it where the banjo bolt was, push it in as far as you can [compress the spring inside] and whack it with a hammer. To install, make a tool the size of the washer and tap it in for the opposite direction.

If you get stalled, send it to me - I have a rebuild service. contact me offlist.
