speedo drive lube

Post by Lumpy »

There is a little nipple located on the Veglia speedo drive on my 82 SS. The ball in the centre appears to be spring loaded and it looks for all the world like a lubrication point. My grease gun does not fit on there and I was wondering has anyone out there been lubing theirs. How did you do it and what lube did you use.

please do NOT use grease!!!!

I take a small nail and use it to press and hold the ball down.

Then I drip some 50 wt engine oil inside. Not a tonn but enough where some of it will spin out on the first ride......... No worries, just wipe your wheel off.........
