I was thinking it would be a great resource to have pics of different stampings on original Borrani rims corresponding to rim size, application, etc. Yes way too much time on my hands...check back I will have some pics up to start this.

Here's a rear that I don't think I have all of the stamping showing

And here's a front. Both 1973 750GT (went to Australia)

Will get photos of the wheels of the 1973 750GT I kept when I get the front back from being staightened.

Thanks Dean, here are some pics of my 18 rim. Not sure of the story here as it was found sans bike. This is a wide flarred rim, notice the stamping "MADE ITALY B", not real clear but this is a 4403 rim.

I checked some other photos I had of the rims I posted and neither of them had "Made in Italy" on them.
The rear rim on my bike does have "Made in Italy" on it.
The stamping on it is different from yours though.
Will post pics when I can.

Here's a couple of 18" rims from my '75 900ss before they got the stainless spoke treatment....

Andy, are those 4777's? or are my eyes playing tricks. I was just a little slow on the draw on a 4777 rim on eBay about a year ago, sold for $50...well I've made my own steals too, it all comes around. Jordan

Yep, you're right.
I know new ones are available from Italy, but I don't know what they cost.....my guess would be a fair bit more than fifty bucks!

Hope this one is a bit clearer...

While I was in the garage I thought you'd appreciate this one too.
If anyone is thinking about upgrading to a 3" rim on the back, I can highly recommend it - it really transforms the bike.

Andy, What are you running the 3" rim on? and are there any clearance issues? By the way is that a 229mm rear disk on your SS? Jordan

Hi Jordan,

I'm running it wth a 140-70 Dunlop on a '75 900ss.
the rusty rotor is on another one I'm restoring.
Ironically, the dinky rear disc is the better of the two brakes at the moment, until I can get some decent race compound front pads to fit the shaved calipers.

No clearance problems with the 140 tyre, but the chainguard had to come off (eventually I may buy a fibreglass one and cut it down), and the chain is fairly close, but OK

Here's a pic of the bike it's on - not great at the moment, but I want to ride it through summer, then I'll get it looking a little neater!

Andy, nice set of 'twins' you have there. Any chance you will have the rear end apart on either of them? I need a pencil tracing on paper of the caliper hanger for the 229mm disc so that I can fabricate one for disc conversion on my GT. I have all of the other bits (I think) that I need and this is holding things up. Any help greatly appreciated, Jordan
