Darmah battery

Post by Phil Ranucci »

What's the choice nowadays for an electric start '78 Darmah? It used to be a B68, but is there something smaller and lighter?
Thanks.

Lots of choice, Phil. Personally I use a Westco 30 (aka SVR30) which is the big brother of what Steve stocks, the Westco 20:

.. and I can find nothing better to repeat what Steve says:

"A workhorse which is much smaller physically than your standard B68-12V 36AH stocker, but will outperform in in every way. Don't be tempted to buy a cheap battery, you will have to replace it often, these you won't. Sure, you can go to Kmart to get a battery, or any motorcycle dealership...... But these are different, they are the new technology maintenance free dry cell battery. This is a very good battery and should last the life of your bike".
