Source for 25 amp fuses

Post by pharquarx »

Can the membership direct me to a source of 25 amp fuses for my 1973 Sport 750? I have tons of 16 amp fuses from my vintage VWs.
Thanks in advance.

Charlie, I've just had a look at a wiring diagram for the 750 Sport and the largest fuse (battery to ignition switch) is 15A. The other four are all 8A. The same fuse on the 860 wiring diagram is 25A with four 8A, but my 750 GT manual shows one 25A and three 15 A fuses.

Might be best to play it safe and use one of your 16A vintage VW fuses.

Steve.

Thanks for the feedback, found the 25 amp fuses here locally at a vintage VW shop, didn't know that they had hi amp fuses like that, but the later VWs obviously did.

Steve, regarding your observation, I downloaded the 750 GT wiring diagram
http://www.ducatimeccanica.com/750gt_wiring_diagram.jpg which has the 4 fuse setup that I have on my bike. It is consistent with the fuse ratings that I have on my bike.

I did note that the 1974 Sport diagram at
http://www.ducatimeccanica.com/750_spor ... fault.html
has five fuses, with the lower ratings that you mention.

Thanks again to all.
