Hi folks, the startermotor on my Darmah just spins, but not turning engine over, any ideas would be most welcome

Starter motor darmah
Hi Tilly,
I would start be taking the upper inspection cover off the clutch side of the motor. This will give you access to the starter gear and chain. make sure they are intact. If they appear OK, it may be your Sprag bearing has given up the ghost. This is the one way bearing in the back of the flywheel that locks in to turn the crank when the starter is engaged.
Has there been any symptoms previously ?
And also make sure your battery is good and fully charged. Darmah's hate low battery, and yes, it can effect the starter sprag.
