Old Ducati Box & Spark Wire Caps

Post by nyioves »

Hello all,

I have '75 aermacchi Harley sx 175 with a Ducati ignition box/coil. I may have posted this before but; What is supposed to hold the spark wire in place on the box?

The Ducati box has a little needle sticking out of the bottom, and I have just been screwing my spark wire into that. But there has to be more to it than that right? Isn't there a grommet or rubber gasket or cap to hold the wire in place? Thanks

Nick

Check the pic at the bottom. Guess it answers my question since my box is identical and these italo bics are similiar. I need a boot like that I guess. But it seems like when I used one last - I could not get the wire to screw in place. Although I am not "stranding the wire" like pictured. I just cut if off clean and screw it in. That might explain my weak spark
