On my 1985 MHR the charge light is staying on. It is very dim and can hardly be seen in sun light. The bike has a new battery and is charging when I checked it with a DVM to a max of about 14.3Volts.
Andy thoughts.

Hi Andy,
Did 1985 MHRs - i.e your bike - have a voltmeter in the loom? if so, that's most likely the problem ... In which case, don't worry as your reg. seems to be putting in the right amount of juice.
(Btw, when working, these voltmeters respond to BOTH under-voltage. i.e below 12.35v, and over-voltage, i.e over 15.7v).
Ciao
Craig
