Veglia gauges on a SS

Post by MartinMille BANNED »

Took the dash apart today as it had a 5 light dash when it should have a 3 light , and way I noticed that the only thing holding the gauges in place was the rubber housing boot . Is that correct on an SS that is all that holds them in place ?

The gauges are going on holiday at "OTTO's" next week for a spring or should I say winter clean

Also has anyone bought the new style aftermarket boots ?
What are they like can you tell there not Ducati or are they the same?

Not just any hose clamps will do. The ones on mine have a slightly different type of clamping arrangement and are thinner than normal.

Those clamps had me at first , un-screw them and nothing happened until I realized that they flipped backwards thus releasing there grip , In 30 yrs as a mechanic I have never seen one like that before

Martin, that's all just the boots and clamps. Repro boots are very nice, maybe not exact if you want to get out the magnifying glass but I doubt any but the most trained eye would be able to tell.

BM1 -

A set of what appears to be the correct instrument clamps is currently listed on ebay if you're still looking.
