'75 860 GT Starter Permanent Removal

Post by emptyg5000 »

Does anyone know if there is a "how to" for this particular starter removal, i.e. what needs to come off and what can be left on, etc.? As soon as I find a left side cover that ugly thing's coming off.

Any advice from anyone who's done it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

eG, The starter comes right off just remove the outer cover pull the chain etc. as per the manual [ you have one right? ] The battery cable and solenoid are easy too. The hardest part will be to find a non electric start primary cover. 10 or so years ago I looked into getting a spare for my racebike. I did find one used, For only $400 !! If you get lucky you might find a complete 860 rotting away somewhere. Good Luck, Bill
